Dead ends are marked. There is an issue however with a very final location. It's possible to revisit it after finishing main story and when route planning it is shown as proper "exit allowed", with energy cost and everything. It is not marked as dead end. When you enter it thought you realize there are NO exits or anchors or whatever, none exist there. At this point you can abandon run sure, but there is no way to get the stuff back. Even if you reach it again and find a ghost, there is still no exit.
