Olympian veins are way to rare

Maybe they get more common post game, but in all the 20 runs I made in the deep zone I only ever found 2, and it was only 1 per zone they were supposed to spawn in. Compared to armored doors and thermo sap crystals which usually spawn multiple per zone, can be gotten as drops from multiple sources and anomalies, and from grinding doors and panels from cars. Point is using armored parts is pretty convenient and accessible as well as anything that uses mid game materials because they are just that convenient to use. Heck using anything with explosives is just much more convenient.

If there was a car using olympian doors in the deep zone I don't think it would be nearly as frustrating. But right now trying to craft the end game materials feels as pleasant as being speed trapped into trees over and over again. I especially don't feel inclined to make anything from them that is going to get worn out because they are just so rare. Which makes the end game rewards feel pointless other than schematic unlock achievements.

Honestly you aren't missing out on much, Olympium bodywork is a nice convenience but armored panels are plenty and the other Olympium grade stuff like the LIM chipped engine aren't actually much better than the midrange stuff (with some massive downsides).

I’ve found plenty of deposits once I know what to look for. Bring the resource scanner and try to reach the deep zone during the day(morning preferably) to make it easier to find. Remember to bring enough magnetic hammers, having to resort to impact hammers is both slow and unrewarding. I managed to find 3! deposits in a group near a blacksmith so be prepared to time your hammer strike to land after the shockwave otherwise the ore will be flying.

Use the junction re-stabiliser to remove the high-instability modifier and to give you more time to find the deposits.

In a single junction I managed to get enough olympium for 5 panels.

Olympium is not that rare, you can get small amount from ARDA investigators in the deep zone, and you can occasionally find large clusters of olympium veins. A resources radar is a big help, and you tend to find more of these veins in regions with a high resources value, high instability junctions tend to have greater amounts as well.

Olympium is very rare but unlike lower tier panels, you get refunded nearly all the olympium used to construct parts when you deconstruct them (because you tend to deconstruct worn out parts). So while you only get about 2 thermosap crystals when you deconstruct an armored panel, you get back 8 olympium back when deconstructing an olympium panel (out of a reconstruct cost of 10).

So while collecting olympium takes a long time, the olympium parts are nearly "permanent" parts due to the ease of deconstructing and reconstructing them once they there.
