as well as the weight of your car.
of course having a weak engine with offroad tires and a full set of doors and panels on the car will make you go slow.
offroading with offroad tires is a lot faster than onroads.
same for vice versa.
and of course with every engine comes more speeds.
its typically like 50-60 for first engine
70-80 for second engine.
etc.
but yeah tires mean a lot and having heavy armor does slow you a tiny bit.
and take in mind lower durability will slow down everything, half broken engine, half effectiveness. half durability tires? half the grip and speed it can gain. etc
Took me a while to notice, but open your hood and look at the engine. You'll see it has a health bar and conditions like other car components. Scan it too, and repair it if it is less than full health.
I think you might start with a damaged engine.
Also my packrat ways show that the car with the starting engine accelerates rather slowly, especially once you hit 40. If you are going uphill as well? It could seem to stop accelerating there.
