What trigger the change in the car frame in oppy's auto shop? in my run only one time it changed in a armored box truck frame, i had 3 off-road tires and a spare. two lead plated element, the rest where steel ones. after that run the squirrel is the only one that spawned

Seems to be random, maybe based on which vehicles you have scanned or maybe having new vehicles in the pool based on story line progress.

When I was only in the outer zone I only saw regular cars, after I got to the middle zone I started seeing squires pretty often, and now that I am in the inner zone I have seen a truck a few time.

For me, when staring the game, it was car wreck with some lootable pieces and sometimes some stuff in the trunk. As soon as i completed the Mid-Zone Crossing mission, it changed into car frame with 0 to loot from. Has been such ever since.

Haven't reached inner/deep zone yet, so, can't tell if that changes again. But if it does and IF it is the last vehicle i scanned, it would be ARDA investigator truck for me.

Maybe it depends on how much stuff (materials) you have in your garage storage. I'm very well stocked up (loads of looting runs in outer zone before progressing main missions) and don't need any more crafting materials. Perhaps game can tell it and spawns the wreck according to that.

Same thing happened to me as well. Had the lootable car until I crossed into the midzone, then it became the car frame. Crossed into the deep/ old zone and I got an Investigator as soon as I got back! After the next mission though, it was back to being a useless frame...
At least the radio and computer are still there though

Actually you get the steel car frame when you die on a run or you return to oppy's garage with steel panels (doors) or without them, you get a squire if you have lead panels or upper someone know other triggers?

as far as i can tell it's random from a pool of vehicles you've encountered (with rarer vehicles being more rare) with some sort of weighting towards what the player "needs" similar to the dumpster (lots of damage on car/missing panels, more likely to have intact panels, etc)

Wait that car can change?!

I've just finished the "visions" mission, done over 20 hours in game, my car has insulated panels and lead lined doors and I don't think I've ever seen it change from a normal wrecked car with crude panels. Not like I've checked it every time but I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if I had seen a squire or a van there instead.

(and yes, I've scanned all vehicles I've come across).

Some additional insight;

Delibeartely made a failed run (where i died), so that Remnant Ghost would spawn in and i can scan it. Once i was teleported back from afterlife, the car wreck in the garage turned into Squire. With 2x armored doors, 2x off road tires, 2x armored panels and some stuff in the trunk.

I'll go and do the Remnant Ghost scan run now. I'll report back if that car wreck changes again.

Edit: My failed run auto parts were: crude doors and panels, spare tires, one crude bumper, one LIMpulse bumper and turbolight engine. No other stuff on the car.

I'm pretty sure that wreck is influenced by your existing loot, and how successful your previous run was. I've never gotten anything other than wrecks, and squires but I always got the squires after my car got trashed or I had to abandon a run. Now days I always come back to a completely empty wreck, but I also have rediculous amounts of inventory and my car's almost completely maxed out. LIM chip engine, Olympium doors and panels, nitro in the back, LIM shield in the front, so I rarely go back to the garage with worse than yellow quality parts.

Intriguing. I've been consistently getting Squires ever since I entered the mid-zone, besides the one run I did where I went three zones out for several achievements, which netted me a wreck.

I've only ever gotten cars on my trips back. No trucks so far.
