Radiation Suit

So I crafted the final radiation suit and thought it would make me immune to all those 2.5 rad areas only to notice it doesn't help with it.
Then I checked the tooltip again and it says immune to radiation <2.5.
So where exactly does this help then? As far as I know there is no radiation < 2.5 except 0.

Is it maybe just bugged I wonder?

There are some areas where the radiation creeps up from zero to 2.5K, thus you won't take damage until you are in the 2.5K field. Without the suit you will take damage on the approach to some 2.5K fields

This is actually pretty disappointing as its a late game upgrade and the whole reason i wanted to get it was that i also thought it would make you immune to the 2.5k areas so that you could freely explore in them a little more by the time you reach it. Anything below 2.5k is already pretty negligible by that point anyways and it would have been a nice QOL for the resources it costs to get it.

I definitely feel like the balancing on some items and upgrades is very off for what they do/when you can get them.

Oh, what? I thought it was going to do the same thing—make you immune to the radiation that is randomly inside houses and from anchors when you are running with them.

That does seem almost like an oversight/bug.

I started after the recent update, so, I don't know how it was before, but I don't get any damage even if it is exactly 2,5. It isn't supposed to be like that, right? To my understanding, anything under 2,5 is blocked, but at 2,5 or higher it shouldn't work - but it works with exactly 2,5, too. Or did I misunderstand? ('m playing on story map, didn't try it on Expeditions yet)

I played before the update and it would protect you from enviromental radiation that reaches 2.5k , but for some reason not anymore, they might have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up some setting while adding expeditions
