A setting to repair car but not remove quirks?
While the story and missions are interesting, the constant parts grind is not. However, ticking the "repair car after successful run" box also removes all quirks, which makes me feel as if i am skipping part of the gameplay completely.

I'd love for that setting to be more granular, like you can select whether parts get health back, whether missing parts get added on, and whether conditions and/or quirks are fixed.

Agreed.

Or you can play the game as it is intended; repair car, figure out quirks and once you're in the late-game, you can build repair station upgrade to your garage that heals the car parts HP, but won't remove quirks.

Matter regeneration does the same thing essentially, but it takes more time and it needs you to have 2nd set of parts, since it repairs stuff when you're out on the run.

Btw, Repair Putty is so easy to craft.

The problem with that is that it's *INSANELY BORNIG*. Loot n scoot crafting BS is tedious as hell. I got the game to *drive* and enjoy the atmosphere, not play Minecraft with a car.

You can solve quirks without curing them

You have to spend resources after a successful diagnosis to remove a quirk

I got a quirk that's been with my car for AWHILE where the headlights are brighter when the wipers are off

It shows up in the Tinker Station as Diagnosed but I just haven't removed it

Then play something else? That's literally the whole gameplay loop, what you're saying is you don't like the game. Who are you to barge in here and demand changes like that just because you don't want to actually play the game.

If you want to drive and enjoy the atmosphere, play something else. E.g American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2. Pacific Drive is all about collecting resources, surviving anomalies and maintaining your car.

I don't understand why this is the debate. There is literally an option for removing the grind. The developers thought about people not wanting to grind from day one. It doesn't even turn off achievements, meaning it's (according to the devs) not a big enough change to the gameplay to matter. I would simply like the option to remove less of the grind.

I think it's because most gamers are used to the idea of a binary difficulty system rather than a granular system

I see it a lot in Project Zomboid where people ask where Sprinters are despite playing on the "hardest" difficulty and then realize they have to customize their own custom difficulty to actually get the hardest difficulty

It'd be nice to have these as two separate settings. Full heal of car parts and quirk system removal are two very different things. Do know folk who'd be quite interested in that as a change.
