Try it out. It really is fun! I was surprised how much I enjoy coming back every day and checking in and discover something new etc :)

Yes, that's what the game is about. It does tell you that when you read the description before you buy it. Not every game needs to be something you sit and binge for 6 hours.

It's been my experience that the longer I've played the longer I end up playing. The more I buy that's harvest-able, the more I have to do. I enjoy rearranging things, hunting for bugs and fishing. I don't mind trailing around looking for leaf piles and giant weeds to whack down. I can always find a way to make it last longer lol I take time and check allmy birds and deer to see if their happy hearts are all full, if not I work on finding or creating a better place for them. There's a good bit you can do, but not all of it is as challenging as some may like.

I felt the same way, in the beginning. I posted in the forum that the DEVs needed to add more content as I did everything by midday and there was nothing for me to do.

However, as you resolve quests, grow your fire, unlocking more of the island and its spirits, you'll get more and more things to do. Not to mention after 3-4 weeks you'll have a sizable farm that you'll need to harvest. I just invested 13 minutes today on farming alone.

I'm sure as time progresses the DEVs plan to include even more things to do, as critters were added not too long ago.

I spent about 1-2 hours a day at first. It's just 1hr-ish for the main story stuff but then you can fish and collect things all day if you want but about 1 hr extra was enough for me. I've been doing less lately since I have felt more like doing other things.

But I mean 1hr a day for, around 120 days to finish the story content is 120hrs of game content for, in your case $5. That's 4 cents per hour of entertainment. That's an amazing price. But if not being able to binge it in a couple weeks bothers you that much you can do the game clock cheats, you just wont get the same support if something goes wrong.

I'd never played a real time game like this before either but in the end I'm glad I get to spend a relaxing hour doing this then move on to something else or other games. No reason to spend all my free time on one game.

If you were able to play this game for hours, you would get bored of it pretty quick. Limited daily gameplay is a smart choice in my opinion. Since there's no actual gameplay (skipping stones, catching critters and fishing are way too easy to count as a gameplay). You just pick stuff, that's all.

If you're looking for a reason to play, collection book requires mythical critters & fish etc. which is very time consuming.

You haven't unlocked anything, so yeah... you're not going to have much to do in the beginning. I just spent a couple hours questing, buying, gathering, burning, cooking, selling, and crafting. I don't really fish as much as I should or bug catching.

I disagree. Just about ANY game is fine for many hours of gameplay, Cozy Grove could be as well (if more content was added).

I have many hours on the PS4 version, and here's my thoughts:

(also note- I haven't time travelled once, especially since its unstable)

Early game- its slow and not much to do. 1 hour or less game time per day.

Mid game (half the "story stuff done" or something like that)- more to do each day. 2 hours or more.

After story quests are done- not much to do, unless you want to decorate over and over. Sorry- fishing and bug hunting gets old when the odds of new ones are super low for longtime/regular players of the game. Most in-game days are short, and unless you really want to collect.. it can be under 1 hour.

Cozy Grove is a fun game but not perfect. I find it hard to recommend to people unless they are diehard life-sim/Animal Crossing fans.

I still think the game should've been early access. Small team or not- game was severely lacking content on launch. A few updates (such as stone throwing and bug hunting) have added a little more gametime, but not much. The game makers shouldn't force the whole "meant to be played 1-2 hours a day", it still feels pushy. It makes any other play style feel wrong- and there is NO wrong way to play a game, period.

Once I finish the main story of a game I consider it done anyway. I either start over or move on at that point. Some exceptions, ARPGs with lots of side quests to keep doing, or something like minecraft where it's mostly based on what you choose to do with no real story in game. So I don't see having nothing to do once your done as an issue, because it's done.

I actually spent more time at the beginning than now (mid game I think) because I did a lot of extra fishing and bug catching for coins and having a stash of stuff. Now I don't so much since I have my stash and plenty of coins.

They had a vision of a chill 1-2 hours per day and not a rush to finish. It's okay for a game to have a finish. At first I also didn't like the idea and would have rushed through given the choice but I actually enjoy it being a daily thing instead of it being over already.

@Tamanduagirl: I enjoy it as a daily as well. I am looking forward to seasonal changes (I'm stocking up on snow stuff!) I just wish there was a Halloween to compliment the witchy spooky stuff. Jack-o-Lanterns and such but I understand that this is played internationally so maybe they will not be addressing holidays so much.

If anyone is hesitant to buy the game because of this, I would give you some words of encouragement. Only the first 2 days or so did I feel like the game felt a little empty when it stops you around 2 hours. After the first couple days the game increases in content pretty quickly. You have more bears to cycle through quests, more animals to feed, more things to harvest, more decorations to arrange on your island, more clothing to pick outfits. The longer you play the more there is to do. Some days I tap out after completing quests because I know I could play another 2+ hours trying to decorate and arrange but I don't have the time or willpower. I promise the game gains much content- it just really wants you to get into the swing of checking in for an hour each day, because that's what it's optimized for. And I appreciate it; it's not a time suck, it's actually really nice.

for the record I'm on day 43 and have 90+ hours at this point! I might let play taper off a bit until the season chanes to fall, very excited to see the new bugs and fish.

It's exactly what the description promises you. And it's just like Animal Crossing. At first you hardly have to do anything. Most of it only comes in the long run or when you set goals for yourself. Get involved and you have a fun little ritual with great character stories every day.

You can move your time forward if you are addicted to the game :)
