Seriously need more closet space

I buy all the clothing items i don't already own to have more options. But, now that i have filled my closet i have to use regular storage, which doesn't even let me wear the items

Do we even have a way to upgrade our closet storage? Especially since the Mayor is such a Fashionista. I'd like to be able to collect the clothing but not have it in my regular storage.

I am about to double check, but I think there has just been a quality of life update released for the game which should add extra space.

Just checked, it did indeed add more storage space, but not closet space. So it is still an issue

Being unable to store all the clothes in the game was the reason I stopped playing Animal Crossing.

Please expand the clothing slots, since I already ran out of them.

Also, I have been buying all clothes, without taking a look if I'm buying duplicates (I'm not sure if that's even possible). After a while, and without any sorting options (another thing that would be good to have: options to sort your clothes by name and type), it's hard to tell if you already own something or not.

If you can buy duplicates, please add a warning message that you already own a certain piece of clothing, so that people may avoid buying duplicates.
