Suggestion: Evening Activities
If you've played Cozy Grove for any extended period you're already aware that every new day begins with a flurry of activity and opportunities, but by the afternoon or evening there's nothing to do if you've studiously collected every randomly generated resource scattered around the island. By the evening you only have one action available to you, because it's infinite: fishing.

My suggestion is create a new set of activities that can only be performed, or spawn, in the evening (i.e. when your Spirit Scout uses her lantern). Here are a few suggestions:

* Catch fireflies
* Catch "night" fish (i.e. have certain species of fish only spawn at night)
* Track spirits to buried treasure (i.e. lantern light highlights ghostly footprints you follow)
* Spawn 2-3 imps /w wants/desires

We know a new feature being added to the game is catching critters and will work like fishing (i.e. infinite). How about have certain critters spawn only during the day, but which disappear at sunset (i.e. sleep), replaced with new critters that spawn only at night?

Does anyone else have suggestions on how to extend gameplay beyond just fishing in the evenings?

Personally, I wouldn't want activities that are tied to a specific daytime since I can't always decide when I have time to play.

Same... unless you have a 'always night' option (the same way there's a 'always day'), but it would maybe defeat the purpose (though I understand the visual appeal).

i think it's on record somewhere that devs very specifically did not want to tie activities to the time of day, so people who are restricted in their playtime wouldn't be cut off from stuff.
this suggestion is in direct conflict with that.

If that's true then I hope they bring out more activities, like fishing and the summer release of critter catching. As it is for me I wake up early, play several times throughout the day and by evening there's nothing to do. Unless I want fish... but I've moved past that stage in grinding as I have a steady supply of flower blossoms now.

I can certainly respect not wanting to deny content to players because they cannot play in the evening... even if it's a shame. Maybe a new "Always Night" setting could be an option to trigger night events for players who cannot actually be around during that time of day. Then they can always disable it afterwards.

You aren't interested in completing the fish collection? I'm trying to find a link from the blog for you that you might find interesting.

I guess you need to play however you find it fun, but to ignore one element of collection might be a mistake if you don't know how it works. Hope its helpful.

The problem with the fishing collection (which made me give up on it) kinda plays into the devs refusal to divide the available resources depending on time or some other factor. The way it works now there's so much fish available all at the same time and all from the same spawn pool (ocean) that it honestly just feels like a hopeless errand so catch them all.

Can't say I blame them for giving up on it, especially when fish is no longer needed for money making.

Curious what you still need a lot of money for after about 60 days? Like, I still spend money, but not like pre-day 50.

Without spoiling too much: some quests ask you to buy expensive things.

How expensive are we talking? I think I've spent $50k-ish on a quest once or twice.

I chronically have $100-200k without even trying lately. I buy most animals and plants every day, and all clothing. Not sure.

Anyways, it doesn't matter. Everyone has to play however makes it fun for them, but, if you are badge hunting, you gotta go for it all :D

I'd stockpile some more money if I were you.

Working as much as I can haha. If I sold everything in my stash I'd drum up probably half a mil. I do what I can. I'm chasing the badges, and balancing collection efforts. It's been fun for me.

As for me I've caught all the Spring fish (all sizes, common to legendary) and I'm waiting for Summer fish to arrive (June 1st?). Currently I keep ~$200K coins, but I do still have a few things to buy (400K coin store upgrade / 2-3 tent upgrades), however, I've been bankrolling purchasing animals, walnut trees, fruit bushes, and flowers for alternate income every day so my coins on hand have stayed at the same amount... roughly. Of course as I max-stack my Storage the excess is either sold or cooked, then sold.
