I bought this game on my switch and on pc but myself an I am sure at least 85% of the community do not care to play a game on freaking Netflix of all things. Its just a shame feeling like the abandoned their core audience.
Only for like 3 weeks though. It came to steam and consoles right after. It was also published by Spry Fox. CG2 is published by Netflix. You think Netflix is going to let them sell it to other platforms?
Yes, but there are no plans of being anything other than netfix exclusive, this time. If it comes to PC it will be the netflix pc games they are working on and not Steam or anything else. The Dev Studio was bought by netflix and they recently made it clear, in a post in their discord, there are no plans and should be no expectations of it ever becoming non-exclusive.
Which is why I held out hope till launch time, but they made it clear that wont happen this time. Like maybe netflix will change it's mind down the line if their gaming ideas fail to generate enough. But it's not like how you can expect most games to become nonexclusive a year or so post exclusive release.
I tried CG2 and it's great! I hope they port it to PC eventually, but it's very mobile friendly. I may just use an emulator for the larger screen though. My eyes can't deal with tiny mobile graphics.
Technically, when you buy a game on Steam you're also just buying the right to play it on their platform. But 1. you don't have to keep paying every month, 2. tbh I have more faith in Steam's future existence than Netflix's XD
Actually in most cases you can play a game without Steam by going directly to the files and launching it from the exe. I had to do this with net and power outages for awhile when using the play off line in steam was bugged for me. Meaning you own the game even if Steam shutters it's doors, long as you have it installed.
In a rare case a developer bricked a game with a update to intentionally break it when pulling it from Steam, but even then you can turn off updates and play without steam, and if you didn't get updates off in time, there is a way to install older versions through steam to get an unbricked version, it's just a little complicated.
I got the soundtrack too. I like to listen to it to give me a calm happy feeling which gives me the proper energy to get stuff done.
