Feedback about ores (might include spoilers)

I'm currently stuck on three quests at once because I can't get enough iron ores. I've been mining the rocks I can but on days like today I managed to get two silver ores instead.

The first one is the one to get a pro pickaxe. I need one more ingot and I hope the extra rock or two will make the other two quests go a bit faster... unless I'm "lucky" enough to just get silver. The other two are also for pro tools.

I understand that patience is a big part of this game and I like that, but this is a bit much! I can't get any other quests from those bears until I finish these quests, and considering I'm still early into the game (obviously) that's almost half the bears on my island. :P

My suggestion would be, if not to make iron more likely to drop than silver this early in the game, at least to make an ore or two buyable. It would still take me a few days to stock up but at least I'd be able to do something.

recycle your silver to get iron with Francesca DuClaw and if ore isn't available in Kit's store yet, it will be

Thank you! I tried to recycle some silver ingots and that didn't work, so I'm guessing I should recycle ores?

Is the iron ore available in Kit's store after the upgrade or something?

Yes. It's somewhat late in his upgrade chain, but he starts selling small iron ores.

Ah, ok! I'm still early in the game so I need a bunch of ores but haven't upgraded the shop enough yet :)

If you're not selling them or using them to build items a lot then you will not need to buy ores. I have more ingots and ores than a chest would hold on it's own.

I never had an issue even in the beginning. There were 3 ore spots right by camp at the beginning. Locations can vary and keep changing though so maybe you need to explore more to find more spots.

I've found all the spots, but they're not guaranteed to give you iron ores. I was only getting silver ones and didn't know I could recycle them into iron (I'd only tried to recycle ingots and that wasn't allowed).

Personally i found it helpful when i started marking mine with a specific (cheap to make tho) lamp type. If there's a way to mark your ore mine locations that may help in keeping up with it. Since you're new maybe use the free decor you get now and then or something like that?

Yes, I kept finding them hidden behind trees(even if the spot hadn't moved sometimes a tree does) then have trouble finding it again. So I put lamps by them. Definitely helps, till they decide the change places later.

I guess I was lucky and had plenty of iron. Salt on the other hand I still run out off but that's my fault for not buying it every day. There's just never enough from mining for all the pet treats needed.

Yes, I buy salt and cocoa beans every day lol I may not ever run out of the beans... i also stock up on those on Wednesdays.

They will eventually move so don't get too comfy lol They are transient. Made me so mad the first time! lol
