Does the game color ever stay, or resets everyday?

I'm only on day 4, but it's starting to bug me having to start in black and white everyday. Does the game ever reach a point where it stays in color?

It kinda sucks because the game is actually very pretty, but I don't get to enjoy it because by the time I get the daily quests done, I only get to enjoy the color for as long as it takes me to farm for a little while. Please tell me it eventually locks in a lets me enjoy the artwork.

Yes, kinda.

Once you ascend a bear fully their area stays colored forever. However I was disappointed that once ALL were ascended that didn't expand to the whole island. So there are still spots of no color. To fully color the whole island you need to spam lamps around to extend it to all the little patches of no color.

If you link your lamps from your camp to areas across the island, those areas lit by your lamps stay colored. The more lamps you have, the more colored areas will stay the entire time. When a lamp is placed, select move, and a white large circled area will show you where you can place that is connected to your other lamps. A large red circle around the lamp will show where it is not connected (so no go for that spot). In order for a lamp to bit lit, it has to be connect to another lit lamp if that makes any sense. I always place my first lamp just inside my camp area (the area closest to the uncolored area). Then I link my other lamps I get to that lamp. Hope this makes sense. It took me awhile to figure out myself.

Yeah, it's weird to start in a colorless island, but it's your job to bring colors to this cold world.
Once bears have completed their stories, they keep lighting up their surroundings.
And you need to craft lamps as explained by Ravenking8, it takes a while, but this game wasn't made to finish in a week.
