Transfer all would be awkward as you'd always lose some tools to storage since there are a lot of tools to carry around.
Also inventory is smoother in controller. It's super fast to select and flick to the next and select again, where as it's easy to miss click with mouse and loose all the selections. Maybe if they just did away with drag and drop so that wouldn't happen it would be better. Then mouse selections would stay and it would be easier to transfer a lot of stuff.
And yeah I think we are talking about the same thing with the auto sort feature: If an item is already in the storage, then all the copies from your inventory also get moved into the storage. That would be really handy.
Using the mouse i click as many as the sys will allow me, sometimes all sometimes 2 lol depending on rendering that day and put stuff away like you said, mis-click or accidentally drag and it's back to zip. I open the storage then Multiselect and double click the last one and it will usually send it over to wherever I'm storing it.
I have a treasure chest next to one of my home fence entrances where I keep tools on occasion such as the dowsing rod when not in use and the fishing rod and or the net also skipping stones and pending task items. Very handy to multi task with new plantings and foraging/feeding space in my backpack.
I have maxed out my backpack space and flamey storage. If multi-selection could be done quicker/smoother that would be great. Wonder if there could be an option to skip opening the trunk/storage and simply drag and drop items to the storage, skipping a few selection steps along the way. I know with flamey it tries to burn the items but surely that could be changed.
Because the amount of times i have cancelled by accident is driving me bananas. I quit playing this game shortly after i got it on pc because of it and just went back to the switch version. I've just come back the last couple days after seeing the update and the problem is still here.
I find that I have that problem mostly when the system has a high number of people playing (for me between 5am and 7 am). I get around it by watching close enough to catch the speech box open on the last one which I accidentally drag and the box remains so I can still put all the items in storage. Note, sometimes it's a dozen sometimes it's three lol depends on how sleepy i am
Most of the time I spend running around :
- to the captain to check new items for my collections
- to the nature bear to recycle flowers
- to the fox to sell shells and critters
- to base camp to burn stuff and put in my tent, which is way too small
Repeat this about 10 times each day.
I feel your pain! I had the same frustration going on for a while. All I can recommend is to hang in there, take a day or two away from the game it won't make you any worse off.
Bake stuff and save back a few 3-5 of everything essential and as soon as you have the cash (fruit=roasted fruit=jam=tincture=$$) , buy expansions for backpack and tent, and treasure chests I have approximately 20 treasure chests now and happily more than enough storage for everything. It took a while to get to that point but I'm there.
Also, I used to think I had to keep every decoration I was given and I found out that unless it was marked "This item is special to somebody" I could sell the decoration, recycle it or just put it down somewhere. I don't recommend doing that to all of them, but it's an option to ditch some of the Legendary or rare ones if you don't use them anywhere (like near animals etc.) they might yield a resource or coin that you need.
