are critters used for something in particular

like half of my storage space is just critters , it's been a week and the game hasn't presented any unique mechanics involving them . are they just intended for profit ?

Donate to Billweather and then sell. There are quests that ask for them but they respawn throughout the day so I haven't found a reason to hoard them.

Maybe keep one stack of each rarity, to be sure, but that's all.

Haven't done anything but sell and donate. I'm looking forward to a quest for a few. I save them for the end of the day and alternate between bugs and fish.

I've just been putting them next to my tent and they're like peas in a pod, happy as clams to sit there patiently. Do other kinds besides grubs run if you place them down?
