(Xbox Series X) Controller plays wonderfully!
Although I have a huge Steam account, I play Techtonica on Xbox Series X because reasons. Now, there have been a number of strategy games ported to consoles with varying degrees of success when it comes to the controls. Some of them work brilliantly, like Stellaris and Tropico 5. Some of them have done their absolute best despite never being something which would be a comfortable fit (Rimworld, Age of Empires II DE)

Techtonica just nails it!

Everything is just so quick, easy and intuitive - the way belts are built, for example. Just use the right stick to look around thus dragging the belt, hit RB to rotate it or LB to switch variants, A to place it all at once. Perfect.

Pressing RT to copy whatever you're looking at, then A to place it or B to back out.

Double tapping Y to go into hover mode, which makes placing belts even easier.

Using the DPad to navigate the hotbar.

Having Left Stick Click instantly switch between left and right windows on the inventory / crafting screen (PLEASE ADD THAT FUNCTIONALITY TO STORAGE CONTAINERS!)

Holding A to go into mass collect mode. Pressing LT to go into delete mode, and then holding A to go into mass delete mode.

Honestly, it just works so well. I struggle - genuinely struggle - to think of a similar game which does things so well.

It's a game about building factories and constantly adding, changing and removing stuff. Connecting simple parts to build complex layouts across multiple locations, stitching it all together and having it automated. Exploration, building, crafting, placing, upgrading, using tools and making machines, and you've managed to make it feel native on a controller with 16 buttons and two analogue sticks. It feels like it was built for a controller.

That deserves some serious praise!

Not to mention feature parity with the PC version.

Thank you so much :rd_crown:
