You can use the elevator to transport power. Connect the floor around the elevator to your grid with other floor or high voltage stepper and cables.

Not above level 12, for 12 and up you need a new a new power grid. Start with crank generators and then build Crushers on level 12, crushing the sesamite sand will supply power for the new grid The power will transfer to 12 and above through the elevator

Manual crank generator mk2 preferred to start

Then belts and arms to move the sand.

Crushers work slightly different.
They produce charge with several recipes, not "power".

You'll have to place accumulators to utilizes that.
charged accumulators then provide power for inserters and machines.

The crusher is not "just" giving power. Everytime you run a recipe producing power a multiplier is increased to a maximum. At maximum you produce so much power from sand it's insane.

And with the Rapid Sand Creation recipe you can turn the output of 5 crushers back into sesamite sand for even more power. Zero sand in the end and even a small plus on sesamite on sand.

I love the desert update ...

Another example: I have a sesamite ingot farm. I completetly disconnected it from the power grid no crank generators on it anymore it uses between 35,000-50,000 KW only the crushers and accumulators keep everything running. It grows plants, crushes them and uses half the crystals to make power and half to make ingots.

The farm needs no extra power from the outside and puts out tons of plantmatter and shiverthorn gel and some extra sesamite as byproducts and of course primarily Sesamite ingots.

I really love the crusher ... so many strange ways to solve things.
