1.0 power transfer

I might be missing something but is there a way to send power between floors?
I really want to do an area for power storage and another for generation but i dont see a way to send it between floors i really expected the elevator to have a plug port or something.

I thought I saw/heard something in one of the tutorial messages that you're supposed to connect the floor of the elevator to your grid?

Not sure as I haven't tried to transmit power yet.

It's the floor. Make sure the floor of the elevator is connected to your generators, and it transfers power up and down. There seems to be a limit on how far it goes, though. Power from floor 1 will go up as far as floor 11, so I guess the transfer distance is probably 10 floors, so it would be best to set power up on one of the middle floors.

[edit]Wait, never-mind. I won't mention which floor, but there seems to be a message about something wrong with electrics on one of the floors, so you likely have to do something to fix power transfer up beyond that point.

Is there any way to Automate your power instead of places fibers and crank handles all the time?

It's really annoying and i haven't got to the storage portion yet

Yes. You get water wheels on level 4 to automate cranks. And you grow kindle vine in Planters and thresh it for fuel that you can you can deliver to your drills/smelters.
