Save data corrupted
Both mine and my gfs save data were corrupted upon loading into the game today. Yesterday was the very first time she played so her save file was made yesterday and I had previous save files from a while ago. You'd think your save files getting corrupted would be top priority because it renders the game unplayable. Might request a refund for both our games if it continues.

I think the update to 1.0 today made the saves not compatible. You have to start fresh. You would need to read the release notes to be sure.

i couldn't see anything in the release notes about starting a new game. All my saves are showing as corrupt. another game in the bin, not very pleased at all!
Yeah, the map has been totally changed,it has been chopped up into different pieces. So all your previous saves will no longer be possible, as the map it was played on was gone. Yeah, I felt the same, I was preparing for t he update, building to explore the next level, but no have restarted. With a bad muli level map, instead of a big explore one.

If she started before that patch to v1.0 that dropped at 1pm EST Yesterday, that makes sense, as they stated 2 month ago that v1.0 was going to need you to start a new save.

DON'T BUY EA GAMES, if you aren't willing to start over from the beginning

We're really sorry about breaking your saves, we've been warning folks about it for months because we knew how upsetting it would be. Please don't hold it against 1.0 - the update is a ton of fun and we strongly encourage you to give it a shot.

Yes, the saved games are gone...but what's the problem now? - I was also wondering where everything had gone and was even pleased that the game has been rebuilt...now it's fun to play again. New research, the places (where you learned everything by heart over time are now laid out differently) - and you can now search again and much more....So would you rather have a boring game or something to think about where the result will satisfy your hunger? - I think that challenges are more fun and rebuilding everything is not a bad thing.

Yeah, challenges can be fun, but it feels like the exploration has been nerfed.
The earlier version of the map had going for it, that you could do the exploration in self-determined batches and now it is locked behind "produce x drill bits".

Also it was fun to build massive factories and have Monorail lines between the different mining and production locations.

Now it feels less like a continuous factory game and more like the factory games, where you play different levels/challenges.

Yes, it was Early Access and the focus of the game can change, but there was no indication a main part of the game would change so drastically. To have it change on release feels a bit like a bait and switch, which is probably why a lot of the early access supporters feel blind-sided hence the much more negative reviews since release.

So since September 26, 2024 (I've been following it), all the news has been written little by little...so I don't see any omissions. So I was able to prepare well for version 1.0

I liked the early access better. I don't mind starting over. But these new areas are horrible and much too small. Build bigger factories and don't jump around in different levels.

Do you have cloud saves enabled for TT?
If so, disable the. There are several reporting lost save with cloud on

This is a bad idea. If you have PC or power issues you can lose your save without cloud backup. Better to have than not. If you don't allow the game to sync with Steam before starting other things or turning off power. It can cause save issues.

the fact the game saves every minute and there are up to 30 auto save files this really isn't an issue.
Any other game I'd agree., plus you should be manually backing up you saves at least weekly

Ya, but some will complain about even 30 minutes. I think it is more user error than the game deleting or corrupting saves.

Just decide yourself what you prefer:
- Data loss one save file being written then corrupted due to power outage
- all (current slot's) saves lost due to sync issues
