Iron infused Limestone etc

I'm experimenting with different things. Is the only purpose of "Iron Infused Limestone" to increase iron and use up Limestone? I can't seem to smelt it directly or use in blast furnace, the only option is to thresh, or am I missing something?

Maybe it's a future recipe for other PT stuff.

This is to get iron out of limestone

Yea this is to make ore, "unlimited"
But infusing it, then threshing it, You getting more ore out than you put in.
