How to use the new maps?

I started a new game with both the new maps and just ended up in the standard Techtonica map each time.

One map is like the first one but is darken and not bright to give you a different feel to the game. the other one is really different with a huge build area like in an open cave. That one is a sandbox play for sure.

So I have to use sandbox to get into the mountain king map?

That doesnt work either. I chose custom game, mountain king map and I wake up in the cryopod. When I break out of the building I am at station lima.

same. never got into the story mode so much and its a big turn off for me.

i just wanna build factories, do research, then build bigger factories.

downloaded the game again today to try, and kept starting in the cryopod starting area, walk out and id see station lima. maybe im pressing the wrong button idk?

back to dyson sphere lol

EDIT: its great devs added options to game modes, but its either infinite everything or hardcore nothing. change the options around and no achievements available? wheres the standard bare bones sandbox mode that doesnt give me hand holding options that still gives achievements?
