relay circuits

i need them to make the mk 2 versions of some things, but i don't see anywhere how to craft them. they're not a recipe i have unlocked. am i missing something? where do i unlock this? i can craft ceramic stuff and electric motors, but not relay circuits?

I'm at the point in the XRAY upgrades where I need iron and copper slabs, but relay circuits did not unlock for me, so I cannot craft a blast smelter to produce the slabs.

Did I miss something?

Edit: Ok, I saw my mistake. Confused blast smelter with MK II smelter...

I saw that. I'm not a fan of being forced to mess around with the blast drills and smelters to unlock that. are there any plans to add alternative ways to unlock that? i don't have much interest in the blast stuff as it just seems like a waste of resources and so i'm ignoring it entirely where possible. it's my least favorite part of the update and i'm glad so much of it is avoidable, but i'd like the blast stuff to be entirely optional if possible. it's advertised in game as a resource sink and in the update as something to mess around with late game, so why is it forced to be messed around with to progress to mk 2 machines? i don't like that decision.

After getting that upgrade you can stop using any blast machines, there is alternative ways to get all endgame components without them, but you have to use them at least once to get through that upgrade.

Important note is that whole Xray loop is technically optional since fixing elevator is end for this area, everything past that is 100% optional

Mk2 machines also optional and they are even further endgame content, they are not required for progression

It will be more smoother when we expand game further with all planned new machines and areas, at this moment we had time and resources to implement this machines so we did

I'm not sure about it being entirely optional. Victor requires 20x Relay Circuits to upgrade. I've found 11 of them in a chest somewhere in my exploration, but I need 9 more to progress Victor. Does it require me to progress XRay in order to progress Victor?

You don't need to do XRAY at all to complete the story, but to max Victor Out you do.
Relay Circuits are unlocked in tier 4 of XRAY
