Dirt to clay
Am I a dumb dumb. .which.. is very likely but I can't find what machine to use to get dirt to clay so I can do ceramic parts. I feel like I gone through everything five times over but no machine seems to do it?

I seem to be having this issue as well. It says you can craft clay manually as well but I do not seem to have the recipe for it. It seems like I am missing alot of the new intermediate recipes.

Check your crafting menu. At the bottom of the info window you will see the machines required to make the item. I was investigating that last night.

I don't have most of the new intermediate recipes, Including clay. I know that you can manually craft and make clay in assemblers but I am missing the recipe for it. therefore I can not progress.

X-ray 3rd Tier; Ceramics 15 Purple Cores
Unlocks:
dirt to clay,
clay to Ceramic parts,
Parts to Tiles
