Controller Confusion

When i first launched the game i was very confused as i did not have a cursor and could not click on anything. the arrow and WASD keys let me move up and down the main menu but i tried ENTER, SPACE, SHIFT, and ESC and i could not open any of the menus. i found that if i alt tabbed out and back in, then used the "locate my cursor" button in windows, i could move my invisible cursor over a menu that i had highlighted with WASD and click very rapidly. my cursor would show up for a brief moment and click the menu opening it.

i eventually got into the controls menu and found that it had "accept" mapped to A so i realized i had a controller plugged in. i wasnt using it as i dont like it for FPS games but the game/steam had picked it up and blocked all mouse inputs. unplugging the controller unhid the mouse cursor and i was able to play normally. some kind of prompt or indication of what button opened the menu would have been nice as this took 20 min to figure out
