Damn- I didn't think about using the Pick Axe to achieve this- nice one. Kicking myself.
I connected the damaged water wheels this way. Just run one line of foundation blocks to connect electricity. I could then use that Batteries and other stuff that worked there. I'll expand on this and set up a whole hydro plant at some point and it wont interfere with my base.
Yes, the MOLE can drill below your current floor level, but you gotta trick it. The mouse handling for this is atrocious right now; it seems to care more about what cells a vector from the camera forward intersects with, rather than what cell is visibly underneath the mouse.
This is definitely coming soon, can confirm. It might be in the QoL update, but I've seen work being done on it.
