Plantmattter Fiber

How do you make this item, ive been playing for a few hours and i havent found a way to make this item so that i can produce the plantmatter frame to progress the story. when i hover over it.... its just blank and gives zero details of how or where its made.

This is nowhere close to sufficient to solve the issue. Even if you follow all the story pings (which the game doesn't tell you is gating technology) you might not see the items to scan (and while the game does tell you to scan things, it doesn't show you the location of the things you need to scan which is gating technology), even if you scan all the technology, when you build it you might not know what kindlevine stems are to put into it (which the game doesn't tell you at all), even if you read this thread and someone "helpfully" said you need kindlevine stems, you might not have known that kindlevine stems are produced by the planter and is an entirely separate technology which you again need to scan without being told the scans are gating your ability to progress at all.

I think is based on the story. You lost your memory and don’t know s..t. The idea is to figure it out. Some people like it to go to this marker and scan this glowing through the wall item and such

Cool, I'm glad you agree with me that simply following the story pings doesn't solve this issue at all. You have to actively explore, scan items in your exploration you might not see, and hope you've unlocked whatever information is in the codex, which frankly I never read, because, again, the game never told me to read it in order to understand what my progress is being gated by.

Ok, I can tell you're approximately 5 years old. Explain in detail to me, why indicators exist on the HUD after I visit an area, but don't scan the relevant objects before leaving the area? Is it literally nothing?

there is no area, you are underground. why are you so frustrated by a early access game :) it is not finished.

You'll get a mission ping that takes you to a locked door (no power). Plonk a crank generator down on the powered floor and crank it - this will unlock the door to the warehouse.

You can then scan everything in the warehouse which will unlock the Thresher and planter in the tech tree. You can then add the planters and threshers to your factory.

Put Kidlevine seeds into the planters then take the resulting kindlevines and put into a thresher. Take the bound sticks that this produces and put into another thresher to get Plantmatter fiber.

The plantmatter fiber is then put in an assembler to make the Plantmatter frames

I never got the ping, was digging straight down and came out on top of the factory, did all of the quests leading up to it and no ping ever. Tutorial is very badly done. Hope that is enhanced near game release.

Are you sure? If you follow the quest line, you'll get a beacon marked WH. It's of course a work in progress, but the quest line should've working. Did you have any luck?

We changed the order of this in a recent update! You used to get seeds from plants first :)

yeah i've been playing since you guys released early access last year, i meant the order that the person was talking through the thresher breakdown. first thresher breakdown was always seeds and stems was it not? not stems and extract. unless i'm missremembering, if so my apologies.

The change was that you got seeds from picking up kindle/shiver in the world, which first had to be put into a planter to get the threshable item.
Now you pick up the plant which goes right into a thresher.

But this only affects the first time, as Threshing the plant still yields seeds (and stems/buds)
