Wrong for 4 reasons:
1. Niche shmups or arcade games dont have a large player base so rarely do we encounter any cheaters.
2. Devs that care about their product featuring dev hosted online leaderboards will check the database weekly and remove any fake scores. They can also blacklist IP addresses that fake scores originate from. Also, cheaters don't generally stick around to keep posting...they move on to the next game.
3. Good shmup devs go as far as to make any score uploaded to an online leaderboard database also upload a replay. Some examples of this are the Cave titles and more recently Like Dreamer.
4. It's not 2004 and we shouldn't have to use external resources for posting high scores.
Wait it does?? The store description doesn't say so.
If so I'll remove this thread.
edit: It does save replays at least locally as well, but I am not sure if it uploads them for others to view. I just checked and I wasn't able to download any others.
Thank you for the information. I'll leave this thead in place for now just in case any other players were wondering if leaderboards were included.
Cheers!
