We don't want to compare ourselves with others, we hope that fans of similar productions will also like our game!
Seeing this is great, because we might have the chance to get something that will eventually be better. True sub simmers will have both anyways :)
Well, all we can do is hope that we'll meet your expectations!
Great to hear that!
Yes, there will be a campaign mode.
Judging by the trailers, it looks like it is attempting to stay as close to Uboat gameplay as possible, while making reasonable modifications to take advantage of or keep it fun for a VR setting (for example, playable darts, which seems smart to me as a minigame like that would be boring and simply not worth implementing in the PC version, but could be nice in VR).
I expect some substantial differences, one that has been advertised is co-op multiplayer. I also imagine, however, some otherwise standard features will work very differently (e.g. I am very curious how time compression will be addressed, 1000X time compression would probably make a lot of VR users nauseous so I presume it will be implemented differently somehow).
I am curious if one of these differences is part of the story behind the release dates going from a particular date, to "Fall 2023" to "TBA." I certainly hope it is nothing serious but also just generally curious what is going on when I came across this.
In any case, if this game ever actually gets finished, I am pretty sure it would have to be unplayable for me to dislike it, presuming I am right and it will stay relatively close to standard Uboat gameplay. Really looking forward to it, looks awesome!
