Substance 3D Designer 2021

Alchemist on Steam and native Blender support.
Adobe has shown some reason for once and continued the perpetual licence programme in some way under a new name. But: Will Alchemist ever be available as a standalone/perpetual licence on Steam or do I have to continue using B2M? And what's up with having no native support for Blender: Blender is FOSS, so why not at least have native support for the latest LTS version?

Yes, I know the answer! Adobe likes the Greens too much to integrate something in a non-subscription licence, instead screwing the user with a subscription-based sunk-cost-fallacy model.

Hi, Alchemist will likely not be sold as a standalone in the future and remain part of the subscription only.
As for Blender, integrating Substance is a challenge as the GPL licensing prevents us from creating a proper integration without open sourcing the Substance engine. That being said, we're working on something and have good hopes to have more news on that front next year.

Thank you for your swift responses. I hope the dev team can find a solution for Blender integration and corporate allows it to be made available as a complementary tool for the Steam version as well.
Greetings.

honestly Alchemist is a waste, you can do much of that with Designer anyways most old time users already did what Alchemist has many years ago.... you can set this up nearly as Alchemist does..So if Adobe does not want to sell it, THERE LOSS.. you really don't need it... most of us find it to be near useless. Designer is amazing though..
