How can I paint Hard Surface WITH color?

Hey everyone! I always painting hard surface by hand and it is often exhausting and not as tidy as I want it to be...

Example: I have metal gray surface and want to add hatch there. I stamp hard surface and I understand that this hatch needs to be dark blue. So I switch to brush and manually paint it with dark blue.

Is there way to I dunno... Auto create alpha from hard surface image and apply it with color with the hard surface stamp?

NVM it appears I should use alphas for hard surfaces they go with color+height which makes this way more flexible than using normal maps

Use fill layers for as much as possible, then you can adjust everything on the layer without having to repaint later on, including height and roughness in your case.
