Are Wrath cookies worth it?

I'm more on the idle end for now (haven't ascended yet) but I often see Wrath cookies whenever I glance over. I've gotten a few incredible effects and was wondering if it outweighs all the cookie loss. Looking around for answers has gotten very mixed results, since some people avoid them like the plague while others are saying there's only 1 or 2 situations where it's a bad idea.
(One time, I Forced Fate, it backfired, and I was stubborn enough to click the Wrath anyway. It gave me a gold cookie "nothing happened" message. Probably the 4th or 5th Wrath I'd clicked in all my hours.)

I use wrath cookies for two reasons:
- After an ascension leaving grandma in the wrath cookie mode to get wrinklers is a faster way to complete all the seasons, I usually don't even tap the cookie, just the wrinklers.
- You can't get the Eldeer achievement and a couple others without clicking wrath cookies. Once you have the achievements you really don't need the wrath cookies anymore.

Thank you! I am thinking about just leaving them then. I got a few really good effects, but then in about 5 minutes, lost 81 quintillion 4 times in a row. I'll save achievements for later probably once I ascend and get all the upgrades I'd like

LOL, yeah it seems random to me what you wind up getting. I got the impression that I wound up averaging in the positive overall when just clicking wrath cookies, but I never actually took a real count if that's even possible.
