Weird music is playing that isn't from Cookie Clicker?
Whenever I start up the game, this weird music starts playing that's not part of the Cookie Clicker OST, and it plays over the regular music. I checked and it's not a background program or in a different window. It ONLY plays when I start cookie clicker. I tried disabling all the mods I had installed and it still played. The music sounds like drums and other background noise, and it has weird vocals that almost sounds like chanting. I know this sounds fake but it actually happens. One of my mods HAVE to be corrupted or something, that has to be the only explanation for this. I wish you could post videos to discussions to show an example of it happening.

Here you might have tabs open with stuff like trailers for games. This happened to me when I was playing Kill it with Fire after watching the KIWF 2 trailer. It's annoying but all you have to do is close the tab from there and it should fix.

I've restarted the game and steam multiple times and it still plays. Now that I listen to it again, it sounds like game trailer music???? Why does random game trailer music play when I start cookie clicker.

FINALLY, I found where the music is coming from. You know when you start up steam and it shows you that popup of random game offers? The first game that appeared on it for me was called Planet of Lana. It looked interesting so I clicked on it multiple times but it wouldn't take me to the games page so I went "oh well", and started cookie clicker. That's when the music started playing. There was no other window of steam open, for some reason the games main trailer from its store page was playing whenever I started the game. I found this out because I saw Planet of Lana in the recently viewed list on the left side of steams store page. I clicked on it and there it was, the games trailer with the same music that was playing when I started Cookie Clicker. I guess it was just a strange Steam bug.

But I still don't know how to make it stop playing.

Maybe try reinstalling cookie clicker? (after manually backing up save data first)

Weird, even that didn't work

I even checked Cookie Clicker's files in the sound and music folders but the music isn't in either of those

What worked for me was to go into Steam > Settings > In Game > Delete Web Browser Data, then I cleared the download cache under Downloads for good measure (warning: this will close Steam and force you to log in again). After that, nothing was playing in the background anymore when I fired up CC. Hope that helps!

Glad I wasn't alone with this strange bug.
@oneupwarrior that worked! All I had to do was Delete Browser Data, didn't have to clear downloade cache. The strange music is no longer playing.

What a strange bug, I wonder what caused it.

Yup. All you had to do was Shift + Tab and close out the tab... I do that a lot now. Can't believe it was that simple lol.
