CPS keeps dropping every few seconds

I'm at the portal part of the game and have sugar lump upgrades for my temple and wizard tower. I noticed recently that my CPS keeps decreasing every few seconds without stopping, not by a huge amount granted, but it's definitely a little noticeable.

Is this something that naturally occurs in the game or is something I have causing it? none of my active worship slots seem to indicate a decreasing CPS for the record.

Also, I have not ascended nor unlocked any heralds.

what spirits are you using in your temple? Cyclius, spirit of ages gradually increases, but then gradually decreases your CPS.

Have you collected any plants that give extra CPS?

I do have that, didn't think it changed the CPS gradually but guess it does! Thanks!
