When to ascend when starting out?

I've seen various guides that say something like "Don't ascend until you have 400 heavenly chips built up"

Really? I mean, if I'm just starting out with CC, that means I need to basically let the game run weeks without ascending, buying upgrades and buildings along the way, without ever ascending.

Is this really the best way to start out? Just let the game run without ascending until I get over 400 heavenly chips?

400 can be a bit much. I think I had around 260 the first time. Enough to get stuff like the first permanent upgrade slot, a couple of the boxes of cookies, etc.

Personally, I ascended first while reaching 2,337 heavenly chips. I followed a pro guide. Granted, the first ascension took me about 3 to 4 weeks. Since then, I have continued my run.

Well at least i started few days ago and i hard stuck at 3 prestiges, so do you guys have any guide to follow to earn more than half billion cookie per second ?

Every building just gives me so few more millions each and takes a lifetime to get enough cookies to build one. So, i would be curious to see how we can get 240-440 or even more HC in the first run. Any tips would be greatly appreciated since i checked for a lot of them and i had only really few tips and nothing really helpfull for how to proceed in the first run.

I'm sorry, are you supposed to sit next to your computer for weeks, hoping to randomly get frenzy+ 777% click golden cookies because that's the only way to make actual progress?
Sit there and not even be able to let it run in the background because you have to push a button every 5 minutes?
Not be able to close the game down because offline progress is an "upgrade"?
For days?
Is that the life you want?

Would be good to share it, no? Cause actually i can't fid any that explain how to reach that crazy amount and i'm sitting for like 5-6 chips in 5-6 days?

sounds hard... took me 3 days....
once u have some upgrades such a cookie appears all ~ 1.40 min, then u get lucky with ths x7 thing u can upgrade a lot of buildings etc. which gives u more chips at the next combo...
then with ypur spell also miht help...
also you have good cookies like % boost based on your buildings it is possible to get an 500-5000+% boost - which can even be better than this click frenzy or at least as good as...
so once you are at ~ 40-100 so are so levled up etc. tht the next combo wil lgive you 50-150 chips and the next then ~ 100 - 200..

so sounds harder than it is...

then at the second ascendion beginning is a bit slow but then you get easily 2000-10000 and after that no prtoblem at all :)

I'm hoping I can piggyback off this thread, but what's the most valuable thing to build over the course of the game? Is one building better than others later on?

I'm on my 2nd ascension after starting the game a couple of weeks ago, and it looks like i'll be just grinding cookies for a bit to get more heavenly chips.
