Cookie Clicker

Orteil please reply to this.
I had 100% game completion before I started cookie clicker.
I have also maxed out every single other game that I played among my 800hs of cookie clicker.
I got all achievements some hours ago.
Instead of being at 100% average game completion rate, it left me at 97%.

Every single game in my account is maxed out.

Also the achievement bar + icons look quite sketchy on my profile!

If I can't get an answer from the developer, has anyone else got this problem?

God cant reply to you. He will send you wonders. You need to identify the holy and find the peace within yourself to solve theodicy.

I'm curious. The game is designed to be played for YEARS. If you are an active player you can speed up this process, but on several occasions people claimed it will take a year min. Just getting "all buildings level 10" achievements will require ~1000 Sugar Lumps, which are notoriously hard to obtain faster than 1\day.

Yet OP claims they have 100% achievements in just 800h or playing, that's roughly 33 days.
Thus OP is either not telling us something or just cheating achievements. Which can explain stuff since the game punishes you for cheating.

I took the liberty to look into your profile and it seems you have some games that are not 100%, like "Among Us", for example. That impacts your average game completion rate.

I don't think it does. Sugar lump timer may glitch if you tinker with your computer dates, but that's not really cheat prevention imo.

As obvious, I did have my own gameplay for 800hs. Tho, I did not wish to continue further, as I got rather frustrated. So obviously, as there is an achievement for cheating, I did cheat the rest 52 achievements I was missing.

Yes I started Among us again, after the update, because I thought that the newly added achievements could be the reason why I am at 97% only to see that % dropped to 93 right after I got the first achievement.

So no, I will max out among us soon, and I'll be left at 97% again.

Take a look and notice how sketchy the game looks + achievement bar + icons in my profile tho. Grhh

Are you sure you don't have any other games under 100% completion?
While I mentioned Among Us, 3 or 4 achievements should not represent 3~4% of achievement ratio. Some other game might have added new achievements.

I'd say that's on Steam profile UI. If the game has lots of achievements and no badge, it tends to get borked.

People can import their saves to Steam.

I checked all. Its only among us. And I'll soon complete it again, just to be left at 97%

Worth mentioning that 800h of actual play is reasonable for the ~3 years you would need to get all the achievements legitimately if you actually close the game instead of leaving it running 24/7.
CovfefeCat Jan 18, 2022 @ 9:02pm
Steam doesn't calculate your total achievement % based on the actual number of achievements. It combines the averages. Cookie clicker has over 500 so missing 4 wouldn't even be 1%. But Among us you're missing like 10% of your overall achievements just by missing 4, so since you only own less than 10 games that have achievements, it looks at the 90% and those 100% games to make an average. It literally gives no ♥♥♥♥♥ about the actual numbers. So if you have a game that only has 2 achievements to get and you only have one of them, then you screwed your profile by adding a "50%" to the pool.

yeah i have 800 hrs and i only managed to complete all the basic "get cookie" achievements. not the garden/sugar lumps/stocks yet

why are you so concerned about having 100% completion rate but not concerned enough to legitimately get every achievement? whats the point...

I have grinded every other achievement. This is the first game that I solo grinded 480 achievements, but didnt want to wait years for the sugar lump achievements. Do I feel sorry? no, because practically there are achievements that require cheating.

then just... dont finish the game? and if you cheat, why get mad at the devs because youre the one who cheated..?
Kasiornis Jan 20, 2022 @ 10:41pm
-There are no achievements that require cheating, everything is achievable legitimately even if it takes a lot of time.
-You decided to cheat, that's your choice, no need to try and justify it. It's a matter of perspective, for you - you love your shiny 100% completion, for me - all of it is fake and means nothing. Will you stop cheating because other random guy dislikes it? Doubt it.
-Devs could explain stuff if their game is bugged in any way and it was their fault, but again - your cheated progress is totally up to you, I doubt Orteil even cares. Coming to forums and asking devs to fix your cheated progress is still kinda...questionable decision.
-As stated above - completion rate is tied to the general percentage of achievements earned in each game on your Steam account. Either complete them all to get your 100% or just cheat the rest, whatever suits you.

Nothing else to discuss here.
