Lost my save

My power went out while the game was running in the background, when I rebooted the game started over completely. Is there a way to try and check for my save data

The game autosaves every 60 seconds and uses steam cloud for backups, unless you turned it off in options

It was enabled. But like I said the game was wiped when I rebooted. Idk where the data is and how to ask it to retrieve it

Just download it from Steam Cloud, it's a text file. Open it, Edit, Select All, Copy.

Open the game, Options, Import Save, Paste (ctrl + v), Load

You can create your own manual backups any time you want as well from options, export save, copy what's there and paste it into a text file.

Your version may have been out of date, when's the last time you closed the game?

You may have been out of sync with steam, it had an update recently (did you update steam recently?)

Not much you can do unless you are willing to hand craft a save file to replace it.

I close it every day since I get fine passive cps. I think the timing of the power outage is what has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me.

Shouldn't have touched the Steam Cloud save, simply having a power outage isn't going to send a message to the cloud to delete it; it had to not exist in the first place or something would be there even if it was slightly older than whatever point in the game you were at

Cloud save is updated every time you save & close at the very least

I know, that's what you'd think. I think maybe it was sending the data when it went out and the cloud for whatever reason chose to delete it. or maybe I'm still out of sync. It should exist. Other games do

Well, you can either start over or edit a save file to put you near where you were

do you know how to make a save file? I want to just cheat back to where I was

What do you remember having that was important to you?

Prestige level? Number of sugar lumps? Number of buildings? How many times have you ascended?

I had a friend give me their save, unfortunately they were a bit ahead of me, but it's better to be ahead than at the start

It's not too hard to edit the file, but yea if you don't mind using his just use that.

I didn't want to straight offer you mine though since it would jump you way ahead of where you are (based on your achievements) and I don't think you'd want to skip that much
