I'm struggling with the never click achievement

I have 0 clicks on the cookie and I'm over 1 mill but I still haven't gotten the achievement please help

You have to start a fresh new game, ascending won't work.

Not quite correct, you don't necessarily need to start a new game, you can choose the option to "Born Again" when ascending which will simulate a fresh start for that specific ascension.
That way you can get all achievements on one save and you don't need to make a new save.

Yeah do this. Don't create a new game. This ascension mode is literally designed for these achievements. Also, do yourself a favour and try to do multiple achievements at once.

If you're going for true neverclick, don't do neverclick before it. Also go for "Hardcore" at the same time (No upgrades)

You simply don't click the cookie at all until you get both Neverclick achievements and don't buy any upgrades at all until you get Hardcore.

Sadly no, any and all upgrades are not allowed, including acsention upgrades, so you need to use "Born Again" and simply avoid purchasing any upgrades,

Only golden cookie clicks and buildings allowed for True NeverClick
then only golden cookie clicks, regular cookie clicks, and buildings for "Hardcore
