Using the above figure of $50k, multiplied by 4 hours a day, makes it 5 months for gaseous, if we're avoiding minmax but consequently being able to stand checking it more hours of the day, $25k an hour times 12 makes it 4 months for gaseous, which is a bit more reasonable.
And probably a different proposed solution is less chances to be stable, chaotic, and slow fall to facilitate more growth, and then higher odds of fast fall as the method of declining.
This is something I would expect doing for getting real money and not achievements in a video game.
The fact I can't see the price I bought something for was the final nail in the coffin, I'll be happy never opening this minigame again.
Somehow, waiting for plants to grow sounds more appealing for me than stocks.
Note that this minigame has one of the most annoying, time-consuming and in general not fun shadow achievements in the whole game.
