Does the game work offline?

Hey! I'm considering buying the game, but one factor for me I can't seem to find info yet on is, does the game work offline or will I need a constant internet connection to play it like the browser version? Thanks!

It should as long as you put Steam into offline mode. The saves are stored locally instead of on a server so you should be able to play just fine in offline mode.

If you mean play the game while offline, you won't need an internet connection. You can run any Steam game offline technically, however you won't be able to save or load to/from Steam's Cloud saving service while offline. This shouldn't matter unless something happened to your computer whilst offline, played offline, then switched to another computer, etc. Transferring your data via import/export is still available regardless.

For offline production, producing cookies while the game is closed is an ascension perk which can be upgraded as WTF has posted.
