If you have heavenly chip secret, each prestige level (equal to the total number of heavenly chips you have earned) gives you 0.05% CpS. I have multiple benefits playing the steam version instead of the web version, notably playing offline, benefiting the max from heralds, displaying my achievements on my profile, steam cloud, and being able to use it as an application
It's extremely cheap anyways and supports the developers so I have no problem with spending pocket change on cookie clicker
