game completely pauses when its minimized

probably a thing that everyone knows about, but i tried to look up the solution online to no avail. sleep mode timer is off in the options, and it doesnt seem to help whether its on or off. does anyone have a solution to this?

Mine doesnt completely pause, the number definitely increases but its shockingly less than it should be. It kinda removes the entire point of being able to fire it on in the background when it barely runs in the background......

I check mana bar and normally it recharge to full in 53 minutes, but when game minimized it takes 8+ hours. Also game pauses every time when minimized, so it means i should play only in cookie clicker and ignore everything on my pc. Even browser window opened in same time with game block progression in game.

It doesn't pause for me, it just goes super slow. I think it just stops allocating resources and doesn't multitask well unless some part of it is showing.

I've gotten in the habit of shrinking it, sticking it in a corner and anything I do on top of it just leaves at least a thin line of cookie clicker showing on the side. Then if I want to be active I just resize it.

I don't know if this will fix it but I have windowed mode on my cookie clicker with sleep mode timeout and screen reader mode off. And when cookie clicker is minimized I gain cookies. So try that it won't hurt to try. :D

My game also completely stops other than the legacy when tab is minimized. It also completely stops when i put my PC into sleep mode, even with the perks that make the game continue gaining after closed. I hope someone has a fix for these issues. My sleep mode is off and so is my screen reader

I have no problem with desktop computer. But my laptop produces no cookies in background. Sometimes it is low production.
I think my laptop is to old to run cookie clicker while watching a video. My impression so far is that it runs better when the computer is less busy. Could be a performance problem in Steam version.

You don't need to keep it full screen. Make it a window and then adjust the size of the window down to be really tiny and stick it in the corner of the screen. You can play with anything on top of it so long as the tiniest speck of a a few pixels is visible

You would have to resize the game AND whatever else you are doing, otherwise the moment you click off CC it would immediately disappear behind your current window. How is that a fix? This is clearly an issue that needs to be resolved, its completely put me off even bothering with the game because i have to keep it as the focus otherwise it just stops running correctly, its honestly kinda ridiculous
