For me the game became much more enjoyable after ascending as I was able to unlock many new features like Dragons (Krumblor), Seasons (Christmas, Halloween) and other fun goodies. And I was finally able to afford 100+ Idleverses. No wrong way to play, just keep making those MF cookies!!
Ascending first time on 1 it's op. Tested on myself
My point is, it's their right to write their guide in any language they want and there's nothing wrong in that. There is percentage of the player base that can only speak spanish, and they'll be more than happy to find that guide. I don't even know what is there to debate here.
You can "comfortably" ascend at 200 first, and then build up from there. It's maybe not the most efficient, but it depends if you're trying to beat the game as fast as you possibly can or are just enjoying the whole pace of it. What you need to keep in mind is, once you start earning prestige, it'll go faster and faster. So let's say it took you 24h to get your first prestige point : it won't take you 24h to get the second one. It's gonna be like... fast. I don't know how fast honestly I didn't pay attention, but like, the next 10 points are probably gonna be available in a matter of a few hours. And then it'll be as exponential as your growth. The thing is, once you unlock the Heavenly chips, your prestige becomes a percentage boost of your whole production. Which means if you ascend with 400 prestige, you'll ultimately gain a 400% boost in production, which will allow you to retrace your steps in hours instead of days. Then if you keep ascending with about 8-10 times more prestige than what you previously has, it'll only take you minutes to be back at the point where you ascended before.
All in all, let's say it's more important for the first ascension to be done "properly" (otherwise you restart without any decent bonus, which means it's gonna take you about the same amount of time to be back where you left). 200 is good enough to feel a massive increase in speed. 440 is optimum to buy some upgrades that make it even faster. After that, try to aim for a very minimum of twice the amount of prestige already in bank (you can check the "Stats" tab to see that), but up to about a billion prestige, you should be able to ascend 10x by 10x without too much difficulty. After that, it slows down, so it's up to you :).
TLDR of my previous post;
- Time you need to reach your first point of prestige : 24h
- If you ascend with 1 prestige, time you need to reach your second point of prestige : 24h again
Total time spent on 2 points prestige : 48h
OR
- Time you need to reach your first point of prestige : 24h
- Extra time you need to wait for your second point of prestige : +1h
- Extra time needed to reach 440 points of prestige : +15h (because your progress is exponential and you got the machine started)
- Total time spent on 440 points of prestige : 40h
I gave random values, just so you understand the maths behind it.
I made my first ascension on 1
And 10th on 255M
