I'm trying to play the game, but it's crashing... What's up with that?

I start the game, it's not in fullscreen, the sword cursor doesn't even move, I'm barely able to pick the language as the cursor is invisible and the keyboard doesn't even function!!????!!!???! After the 15th time I finally select "Options" somehow and put it to fullscreen and I'm thinking to myself, hey I've lost 10 mins of my life but I will finally be able to play the game. Nope.
