The fact that the cars dont get damaged at all, is very unpleasant, for a game of this character. If you ask me the cars should be very realistically damaging on inpact and also hard driving.
I had to remove a tire, before removing the rim... I can just say this is plane stupid. I am sure you should know that removing a wheel dont requires removing of the tire, also I was able to mount the brake caliper after mounting the wheel, again super unrealistic.
You can see a game like Street Legal Racing Redline. Although very buggy, for me still remains one of the best car mechanic and open world game. Lots of damage, Lots of ability to fiddle with the car in the garage and many stuff you can in general copy from there in ti this game.
CHeers
+1 for improving the overall "feel" of the driving... i don't expect gran tourismo levels of realism, but would be happy with something like the crew 2 .
+1 also for cockpit / first person view with customizable buttons/ controls.
+1 for more music.... or better yet, a music folder we can access that we can add our own files to for a custom "pirate" station in game...
+1 for some classic cars, maybe even some old race car "barn Finds"
craftable wide body kit options ? that affect handling ?? a workbench possibly with slider bars so we could make unique car kits to share images of ??? or even the ability to save our bodykit design and export it to the workshop for others to download and enjoy ???
shareable paint designs ?
those are a few things i think would make the game more enjoyable in a single player format......
the possibility to host a game for a friend to join in a drive only free roam mode with a highlighted parking spot or something to access your own cars ?? or even if you wanted to get really crazy, the ability to host a server and have people own their own garages and be able to organise / create their own race routes. i dont know how many garages the map is big enough to support without them "flooding" the map, but maybe could have a bunch of cheaper "units" spread around the outskirts of the city and more expensive ones in the middle where people had to earn their way to a prime location?? then the ability to sell your cars to other players would be the icing on the cake ...
but...
lets get the basics of the game working properly first please :)
Yes to all this
- Add option to start the game with or without tutorial
- In the inventory, possibility to multi selection
i) The driving physics is currently poor. That's OK in a game in which the driving is not racing and is tangential to the game, like "Storage Hunter Simulator". Not so much in a game in which the driving is racing and is more central to the game. It's hard to do well (which is why there are specialised game dev companies for it) but this game does it badly. NFSU did arcade street racing "feel" much better 20 years ago. As did many other games following it.
ii) Related to (i) - camera angle. It's basic in a PC driving game to allow players a choice of camera angles. At least 3 - follow far, follow near, 1st person - and usually more than that (e.g. realistic position with car body showing, realistic position with car body not showing, bonnet cam, bumper cam) . This game only has follow near, with uncontrollable variation in follow distance based on changes in speed.
iii) Related to (i) - inputs. It's basic in a PC driving game to allow players a choice of inputs. Not just controller or WASD, which is what this game currently has. WASD + mouse is fine for right handed players in games in which the player character is on foot. It's not fine for left handed players or for semi-decent control of vehicles. Players should be allowed a choice. If I didn't want a choice, I'd have bought a console instead. I can't use a controller because one of my thumbs is damaged and I'm certainly not going to make it worse by using an input device so badly suited to human physiology that it's spawned a medical condition that has been named after it ("Gamer's Thumb", which should be called "controller user's thumb"). And people should be allowed a choice. On a related note, PC games in which there is both driving and walking and in which both are a significant part of the game usually allow different keybinding for each part because the optimal keyboard controls for both are different for most people. There are people who have become so used to WASD for driving games they prefer it. But not most people. And people should be allowed a choice.
