This game at least hit 700 player peek when the free weekend happen and seems it never will get to that level of community ever again for those 80 and under players who are still playing goodbye enjoy you're game. Peace out.
(It's clear that you don't own it, because the Steam discussion forums specifically shows if you do.)
Also needs some kind of game mode for flying Lego aircraft, or flight being unlockable in open-world once you have fully completed an area, so as not to make getting the collectables too easy.
I would also like to see an open-world chase gamemode for both single and multiplayer.
For me it's the lack of functional build customisation, as far as I can tell the actual build of a vehicle only effects the hitbox and weight (i.e. collision force in-race), even the boost animation can't be bound to a specific part to make a vehicle build feel more real.
It needs custom chassis builds and Robot Wars-style pneumatic piston etc. mechanical abilities, wheel blades and other James Bond-type car stuff for vehicular mayhem, as well as chase and battle gamemodes to really have fun with this.
There was a lot they could have done to distinguish this game and show what Lego is really like, rather than just going the Mario Kart route.
Yeah am not that new to steam and have been around the forums to know that fact it shows who does or doesn't own said game the forum is connected to. Thanks for the reminder tho 😉.
Like quite few people, played it on the free weekend and got to admit was sort of enjoying it but not to the fullest sort of like a 6/10 kinda of game for me but hey thats not too bad, but just in that 3rd aka last day of the time limit of it being free in the weekend days i literally nearly 100% the career part of the whole game. I was just above half way into beating Prospecto Valley by the end of the free weekend.
So at seeing the end of the game in sight in only 3 days of play, i knew if i paid for it am only really paying to play with other creators and now then do MP.
Other things that also didn't help that there was not needed microtransactions within, spite knowing its a near full price priced game, i would be far more forgiving if it really was a free to play already but its not. It's just pure greed to milk its users for more money like the price of the base game wasn't enough for them. That stuff should just be able to unlock with playing as is without not a long grind. Just for what to get kids their mommies credit card money or like any game with microtransations whales that don't care and would spend, spend, spend.
And well the community upload search was utter trash. Like no am not sitting there to get all the way to page letter K more so many people knew to be seen first to do Symbols and numbers at the start of title of their upload since it would put them far closer to what any player would see on page 1- to about page 52 before it finally gets to the letter A to Z part.
And no way to search bar to search other then sitting there watching the pages go by for far too long to get to what you want to search for that may be made or not.
So yeah these three factors really put me off from buying it but i was still sort of still interested to buy it hence i still had this game set to follow to see news, only to hopeful see in the improvement part of the notes that the community upload stuff now has a search bar to search for what your looking for. As long as that was addressed i would of bought it just to play around with other peoples creators you know have fun how i wanna play like many games used to be like.
I voiced my thought out while back but seems i was not heard. So here i am giving up waiting for that update to come, with it not quite but its nearly getting to be a year old and that update the community upload UI has yet to come so given up all hope to buy it now, more so i can foresee the MP part of it is starting to die out with how lacking players are still around and slightly dropping off knowing not all steam active players are likely to be doing the MP mode. So thats just another con to add to reasons of not keen on paying £49.99 if even the players are dropping it.
Happy? I've explained in great detail why i announced my departure and letting any dev that might of read the steam forums (good chance again not gonna be heard but whatever i got what i wanted to say out and that's all i wanted to do now) that a lost customer will no longer be checking the latest news anymore or even gonna buy the game anymore.
This game really could of been great or at least far more decent but nope it was for sure one of the disappointment games to come out last year. Am happy some people seem to enjoy the game as it is rn. But as pointed out am done waiting for it to be a justified game for me to buy into it.
Complaining about microtransactions is a joke... the existence of microtransactions was a mistake and gives off a bad image for sure but its doesn't actually affect gameplay much. (i forget it even exists). The small grind for money is required so people will play multiplayer more (for currency). Since you get ~1000/win and new bricks are like 100/brick (via the surplus mechanic) you can unlock loads of parts to build with quickly if you want... If you waste money on cars/bundles or buying every coloured flair, the faults on you since, especially with cars, its useless to buy them all when you wont use them anyway. Just buying shop items that you like, occasionally, is grindless by doing dailies/weekly tasks or casually playing the game/multiplayer a bit. Its impossible for campaign to be endless so after that its just multiplayer (and building - this is still a racing game - it wouldn't make sense to just be sandbox after). If you hate the small grind you either aren't playing the right type of game (for you) or you've been playing it for too long and need to give it a break.
There's definitely stuff that could be improved creations hub searching might be one of them... but updates are relatively slow and this update still had a massive improvement (far better than search imo): Allowing modified cars to be uploaded means there's little difference between using a new chassis or modifying some campaign/shop car's chassis. If you want to build and upload cars, the severe lack of blank chassis options wont be an issue anymore (since you can just use other cars now)
Updates might be fairly slow in adding stuff but this update is pretty nice and added lots of important things (including more gameplay) imo. Theres definitely more stuff id also want to see (like painting individual bricks on flairs) but its by no means a bad update or not making progress as a game just because not every issue was resolved at once.
I hope I can run for an unlimited amount of time.
I love you. 2k drive
