AVOID THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS
AAA price for a game full of microtransactions. Heavy grinding for obtaining 1 car.

i found this on a gaming side (translated)

Much more exciting is the Lego Bucks payout: It is incredibly low. Even for victories in the higher-level classes, you only get 20 or 25 Bucks. Considering that finished cars cost up to 14,000 Bucks in the store, you can imagine how much you'd have to grind for them. Even additional parts cost a few hundred to a thousand bucks.

saw it on my queue, was confused at the mixed reviews until I saw the "2k" lol. Enough said.

Heavy grinding obtain one car? Lol? What are you talking about?

You get one vehicle per every race event in single player. I've gotten vehicles and brick sets from doing some random quest here and there in the open world. I've been going around the map doing that and collectibles and have purchased 1 vehicle, and have enough to buy 4-6 from the shop.

I'm near the end of the game and I have:

12 Street Cars
13 Off-Road Cars
10 boats, one of which was purchased from the shop for 10,000 brick bux.

There's still a ton of money to earn and collectible money to collect in the open world. You people are spreading such misinformation about this game and need to honestly stop it.
I'm avoiding this game after hearing about the predatory practices.

Seems quite sinister the way these tactics are used on children.

Luckily I don't care about the ready-made cars, it's much more fun to build them myself, and the few parts packs that I wanted to get were only 4000 each and in single player it doesn't take long to earn that.

I've been playing through the solo campaign and have been constantly getting new vehicles and drivers for free, and have access to everything I'd expect to in the mode where you build your own cars. Haven't been pushed toward microtransactions once, and after having a look in the store, there's not even anything in there that's more interesting than the things you get through progress

i actually noticed the same. i was literally shocked how BAD the content in the store is.. vehicles look like crap mostly, the drivers are also ugly and uninspired. i think the stuff you unlock whilst playing through the game is much better and higher quality than the stuff currently on the stire (this will most likely change though and they will put up the fanciest stuff on the store, but so far theres really nothing you would want to even spend money on)

The other day I saw somebody have built a Drivable Dinosaur Fossil structures and I thought they looked pretty cool, so stop complaining about this game and DELETE THIS DISCUSSION :friendly:

Your right, what you say is currect until you finish the game. After you finish the game, the situation changes and alot of grinding is required, What might help is if the multiplayer circuits gave out a fair amount of money. The spider car in store costs 40K as of 15, june 2023 there is a bug that subtracts brickbucks with paid dlc that some users purchased being weeks away. you unlock more cars from completing the garage[\spoiler]

That are mostly unnecessary. You can get well over 100000 brickbux just by playing through the story, hunting collectible items, completing challenges, etc. I will admit that prebuilt vehicles are expensive, but brickpacks are cheap, flairs are... somewhat cheap, and stats are a dime a dozen. And that leads me to my next point.

Or, you know, you can build your own for free. Honestly, if you're only playing this game with prebuilds, well... I'm not going to say you're playing it wrong, but being able to build your cars from scratch is a HUGE part about this game being a LEGO racing game. If you're not doing that you're basically ignoring a good chunk of the game's content.

I've played this game for a decent amount of time now and I've only ever paid the initial purchase price. The only issue I've had is that I've hit the limit on the number of custom vehicles you're allowed to build.
