LEGO® 2K Drive

LEGO® 2K Drive

İstatistiklere Bak:
My thoughts after about 12 hours
Pros:
- Driving is incredibly fun, I love arcade racers (and sims) and I am having a blast just drifting around corners smashing every Lego object I see.
- Some of the jokes are out-of-pocket and I love it. Classic Lego humour, some more adult jokes disguised too. Plus references to movies I enjoy (Farmer Helen and Twister)
- Base game vehicles are fun to use, I haven't yet touched the pre-order or DLC one.
- Exploration is amazing, so much to see and do, driving around outside races doesn't feel like a chore and it always feels like I'm progressing.
- MTX are not "in your face". So far I've used only base game cars and drivers and I am having a blast. You only need to spend money if you choose too or don't want to work for it.
- No/very few bugs. Yes a AAA game released in 2023 without bugs. Or at least none that I have noticed and actually caused me to have issues. Some physics bugs here and there but they were more hilarious than anything else (car gone flying one time). On that topic performance is really good for me too which is great!

Cons:
- Primarily content based. I worry about how much content this game has. I am about 43% exploration and I have a few races left (I think?) but I've spent a lot of time just messing around. My hope is that they implement some form of weekly challenge (like The Crew 2 or Forza) which will create an incentive for me to continue after the story. DLC passes are not out yet and I want to have a reason to grind them.
- Hand holding is kinda bad. This game is made primarily for kids so I won't knock it too much.
- Wish we could see what events we've competed without checking the map. (This may already be in I'm just not seeing an obvious indicator)

I hope they continue to update and add more regions, perhaps some inspired by other Lego IPs like The Simpsons, Star Wars, Jurrassic Park, etc.
(What I would give to play as Homer in a Simpsons area with the Family Sedan, a man can dream)

is the game worth it at that price point? I just got Zelda so I can't justify buying another full price game at that time.

Is it honesty. Game is really fun and good.

compared to zelda, heck no, this is a free2play game in disguise
Keep in mind Zelda is an open-world game that relies on a story, so it NEEDS to have a ton of content. This is a racing game so it's main appeal is going to be racing and playing multiplayer online. It has the added bonus of having a creator so you can build you're own vehicles. The base content lacks because its longevity is racing, earning money and getting/building cooler vehicles. The 2 are incomparable because of the differences.
The review I've written (for when we can post them) has vehicle handling and the writing in the cons pile.

The cornering is absolutely awful (widest turning circle in a video game I've ever experienced) and the brakes seem to work differently if you're in a race or in the open-world, it does my head in.

And the writing is really juvenile. Yes, it's a kids game, but come on man...

Boss did you press the drift button? Trigger opposite of accelerate? Your turning circle is incredibly tight if you use all the controls
What I wish they had done was make all the regions be interconnected with the rest of the other regions like by a freeway or maybe a bridge that leads to a different region of your choosing instead of having to rely on TP-ing to get to specific regions.

Both holding it down and pressing it multiple times (the old Criterion Games special). It just felt sluggish as hell across many different vehicles and upgrade types. It's not fun to play.

ye but with like 8 tracks, mario kart is a racer without open world and has more content AND is cheaper. There is no amounts of copium for you to talk this straight. It's trash tier priced and as a result they will sell a staggering 500copies at best. I eat my own shoe if I see more than 100 reviews within 24 hours.

Don't forget to point out, no crossplay support, so you can only play against those on steam. So millage will likely vary. I highly suggest people go watch the reviews that are up, there are other things people might not be happy with, like the advertisements in game, or the catchup/rubberband mechanics they use for single player/bot races.

Please, don't lie. There is crossplay between PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Only Switch has no crossplay.

better be prepared to eat your own shoe then, atm people cant put revieuws yet (kinda strange since those who have dlc can already play it) so people wont be able to see the game quality and going by the screenshots, assume it is going to be an AAA quality game and buy it, only to be dissapointed that it is more like a mobile game (bonus points if you never heard of the company 2k before and dont know their scummy practices like i did). i expect the revieuws on steam to be mixed at best, but i can totally see the amount of revieuws breaking that 100 in the first 24 hours

I don't think so, youtube views are lowl interest is extremely low. many people already spend 70euro on zelda, guess well see. I expect it to be mostly negative, mtx have no place in this game.

i mean there is somewhat crossplay support as i play on switch also, but the support is... limited, at best. for example, it will remember stuff you bought in the emporium, but it wont remember the buks and coins you have (this is importand, because the game will "buy" the cart mods you bought in the garage on the other platform as well, even if you dont have the buks for it, causing your buks to go in the negative. i can screenshot my -12k bucks as evidence here).
i ran into some other problems too, such as the game interupting you with a warning every ~10 seconds to tell you you dont have enough memory to save (even if you do) once you have a certain number of vehicles in your garage on (this was when i played on switch tough, idk if the steam version has the same isue, also why didnt they just cap it at that point?), or the machio beast modifyer not sticking to the vehicle when you want to modify it and the modifyer not becoming available (its the only one that does this, all the others modifyers become available like normal).
