I submitted a vehicle (my own original creation) shortly after this update hit, and the response I got for it was a red exclamation point on the icon with a pop-up saying "You do not own the vehicle this creation is based on" (which doesn't make sense). The literal only option I have for the vehicle is to delete it.

Since then, I haven't been able to get anything approved, nor has anyone in the Discord.

My theory: They quickly discovered this bug was occurring with vehicle submissions, and halted the entire approval process so that nobody else would be hit with this bug until it's addressed.

yeah its probably an oversight with the ability to modify other people's builds messing with submissions

Yeah, getting that here too. Haven't been able to get a single one of my creations approved this week. Honestly I figure it might be because a lot of us figured out how to get instructions for sets online, and then modify them to work in game, or kit-bashing multiple instructions together to make for good working vehicles.

Could also be a weird licensing issue. I recall a lot of car manufacturers don't like their vehicles showing up in video games without very controlled and specific circumstances. Just a glance at the Depot (and, admittedly, my own creations) show a lot of movie and real world vehicle recreations. There could be concern over licensing/copyright issues?

Or it could be the system is just slammed, because now we have a good reason to SHARE our work, and everyone and their brother is trying to share vehicles.

I dont think it have anything to do with licensing / copyrights. There is no brands parts in-game (there is no official "BUGATTI" logo, "FERRARI" logo, ...) The users are the ones buiding, and they are free to take any inspiration they want: a vehicle from a movie, a real car, or any kind of random object. No matter how good you are at building, the Lego vehicle will NEVER be the exact copy of the original work, it will always be a build that is based on a model. If you are a skilled builder, the Lego vehicle will ressemble the original model, but that's it.

I think they are either overloaded with submission requests, or the devs took a vacation, or there is some bug in the system and it does not show the approval process properly. I think the whole approval thing is stupid. I mean why not just have a report system instead. What's the worst thing that wil happen, we gonna get a bunch of dong shaped cars uploaded....

Still waiting for this to be addressed. This should've been addressed the following day. Time is ticking.

Still having this problem. Keep checking to see if it's been addressed yet....

Seems to be a bug. Buddy of mine suggested selecting all parts added to chassis while in garage. Save them as a group. Create a new model with the same chassis. Load and attach grouped parts and save, then try to submit.
Has worked for me.

Has this been fixed?

No. Just keep resubmitting your vehicles until it goes through. Weekends seem to not be a time they approve vehicles. Just resubmit your vehicle every day until it gets in.
