A Review
Hey! I really love this tool, and I'm planning on buying it specifically for the save files if it works in streaming mode. I love it so much, though I think that some of the controls, like how to rotate the camera, should be a little more accessible, as I still can't find it, I can do all other movements with the camera though. A few of the drop down menus didn't work, which is likely expected for early access. The game holds a LOT of promise! I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

The best part about this game is that you get to build your own maps! They have fantasy and sci-fi, and it's fun to figure out everything and combine them all. I just finished building a small battle map for a one-shot in London. It's not the perfect atmosphere for that, but it got REALLY close compared to a lot of other tools I've used.

The biggest issues for me, is that the controls aren't intuitive, when you select something it automatically moves it, and that you can't pause animations, or lower performance in anyway.

One person suggested releasing it to the workshop, and I agree. I would love to be able to get my hands on a few different models, have slightly more advanced color adjusters, and other additions. Even having simpler blocks such as gray blocks and yellow and black triangles so that you can make a nice-looking power breaker box to replace the wheel of cheese rotated against a wooden board I have now, lol, (I make maps too complicated ehe, yep.). One of the biggest things I suggest though, is that it be accessible to people streaming the content. One of the biggest shifts recently has been from in person to online gatherings, and just making it easier to stream the map would be incredibly invaluable to DMs.

The game has a lot of room for improvement, and it's true that it likely wasn't ready for early access, but I love it. It feels like they need to hire game testers, adjust how it automatically goes into a specific resolution(I can't see the sliders to the right, but they let you input numbers SO THANK YOU FOR THAT! :D), adjust for performance(Why not just do a picture, or gif for loading screens instead of rendering the whole set? My computer stutters every time it tries to change), and just overall, they probably would have benefited from a more informed team, as they could have released it with early access without reviews(like the developers of I think The Unliving game recently did) and not had the negative reviews for things that would be fixed in the finished game.

Overall, I think that this game has suffered a bit from either not having more experienced people on staff or from crunch time, but it's still a good game, and a great tool I'll enjoy using, especially as it's being finished. I'm VERY excited to see how it changes from now on, and I'm looking forward to building fantasy battle maps for our main DND campaign!
