7 months and what has actually improved?
- Joe Frazier got a leaping Left hook
- You don't have to spam hooks to one side of the head for a KO. The fights are now CTE death matches.
If this was a Game dev studio, based out of Japan, USA or Canada.
Things would of changed a lot by now.
British studio with a Bahamas island time, work ethic
The round tables are so confusing to me. They are example of talking loud saying nothing, but in this case no loud talking. Reminds me of the old Charlie Brown cartoons when the teacher is just mumbling. It's like they are trying to avoid talking about the pink elephant in the room. The game creator suggested that the game should not feel different every time you play, yet every time I take a break and comeback the game does just that play is different despite no patch being done.
They also admitted to the host round switching despite never making a true declaration that yes, who host the matches change every other round and that is the cause of a lot of the issues. But alas here I am, just like a lot of you. I guess they have the foundation for something great here and unfortunately they are screwing it up. They also stated in the roundtable that until they have the online experience where they want it (what ever that is), do not expect any career mode game play.
Any update or patch will just ruin it.
Good early access games have a clear, realistic schedule with regular, impactful updates. Undisputed hasn't had any of that. It's had infrequent, irregular updates that change nothing, solve very few issues and usually introduce new ones.
we're nearly 75% of the way through 2023 and only 2 out of the 7 things on their 2023 Roadmap have even been addressed (3/8 if you count fighters and venues separately). The "Gameplay Changes" have been minor at best, counterproductive at worst. Subjectively speaking, I think it plays worse than it did 6 months ago. So unless we see 10x more work in the next 3 months than we've seen in the past 9, they'll have failed to accomplish basically anything at all from their own roadmap.
Early Access or not, the devs' inability to follow through on their own promises is pretty egregious. They pretty obviously have no idea how to balance the game, how to make boxing mechanics realistic and enjoyable, how to stop cheaters, or how to make online play work and feel good. Maintain hope if you want, but it's becoming increasingly unrealistic, and being Early Access doesn't excuse any of it.
Yea the "early access" comments are starting to just become rehashed talking points. By those people using it a game can have been in development for 10 years and it is considered EA just because that is what it is labeled. This speaks nothing of professionalism, communication or progress. And hey that is fine if that what the dev's want. The payment of 30 bucks was the ability to access the game and not have to pay again if/when a finished product is released. Thats it.
Anything more than that is a nicety - I think the public release getting updates is a huge nicety.
The next update won't fix anything, they pointblank refuse to even acknowledge the real issue with their Shister networking, These devs don't have a fix, they have basically masked and camouflaged the problems in the game so that just as people start realising what a state it is, they have passed the available time for a refund, they're scum, they're game is ♥♥♥♥, and they can ♥♥♥♥ off!
