that's not true, it's called denuvo anticheat which is completely separate from anti-tamper denuvo. Just go to your program uninstall list and you will see it is listed. You have to remove it even after you remove the game as it will remain active in your root directory.
People cheat in this game too much for being anti cheat, I even test cheats online and they work, after I suspected cheaters where cheating, so there's no anti cheat if can't stop cheating, you can't even boot Forza 5 with the cheat enabled, that's anti-cheat
I don't quite get what you mean. Are you saying that there isn't an anticheat because people can cheat without consequences? I do agree there are cheaters but they are using a kernel level anticheat. Anyone just has to go into their "add/remove programs" in windows and just scroll down too "Denuvo Anticheat" to remove it. It's different than the anti tamper software they also use.
It's quite an expensive feature they are using overall and since they don't ever ban anyone or care about cheating, one can only wonder what they are doing with the data it's constantly mining. So it's definitely an anticheat but it just allows root access to your computer. They aren't even advertising on steam that it is using a kernel level anticheat that has to be manually removed after the game is uninstalled which even EA and 2K games give notice of.
I'm not certain so I don't want to say definitively, but other games that have the same access granted to their programs like easy anticheat, advertise that the anticheat will remain on the computer until it is manually removed by the user. In reading about this stuff, I have gathered it is somewhat active at all times until removed. A lot of people who are really competent have very compelling arguments for and against these root kits. With responsible studios, it should be OK as long as you remember to remove it when you don't play the game. However this studio has already leaked the entire player bases data last year and never said what they were sending out to some third party who was receiving it for months.
Found out through the Denuvo discord that the anti cheat closes along with the game, so that's a relief. I'm not worried about kernel level anti-cheats (it's a necessary evil in today's world unfortunately) just the ones that keep running in the background even after you close the game like Vanguard. Thanks for the heads up about the data leak, might have to dig into that more 👍
Good work on finding out that it closes upon closing the app. That is indeed good to know and also probably why a warning of manual removal MAY not be needed....but still anything that remains after removing the game is somewhat problematic.
